At the end of December 2006, the Lord spoke powerfully to Rob and Sharon Baldwin regarding the state of the church in South Wales. For example, they heard that 30 out of 45 Assemblies of God churches could be closed in less than 10 years. After giving time to prayer and fasting, the burden just grew and they knew that they were receiving a Nehemiah 1 type call to ‘rebuild the walls and gates.’ Ezra 9:9 was also another key Scripture they received, “Revive, repair, rebuild the house of God.” In Welsh, “Adnewyddu Ty ein Duw.”

As they took the first steps in responding to that call,  the vision unfolded that they would be involved in the following areas:

• Strengthening churches and encouraging existing leaders

• Raising up, training and mentoring a new generation of leaders

• Establishing a network of prayer

• Where necessary planting new churches and repurposing old ones 

It was decided that this new ministry would operate under the heading, ‘Adnewyddu Cymru – Revive Wales’.
